🚗 Subaru Impreza – Class G

For Gavin and Hamish Feast, rallying is another adventure they get to share together.

The father-and-son duo have been competing for the past three years, and this season marks their first campaign in the North Island Rally Series.

Away from the stages, Gavin and Hamish are sheep and beef farmers from Tauranga, making Rally Taumarunui a welcome opportunity to swap farm tracks for some of New Zealand's best gravel roads.

One of the biggest attractions of the event is the chance to experience something new.

"We're looking forward to seeing some new roads in the mighty King Country."

Of course, being farmers means there might be one or two familiar sights along the way.

"Hopefully there's not too much grass and too many fat cattle to distract us!" 😄

Like so many competitors, their goals for the weekend are refreshingly simple.

"Have fun, get to the finish, and enjoy a cold one afterwards."

It's that attitude that makes grassroots rallying so special—family, friendship, new adventures and plenty of laughs along the way.
