Some rally journeys begin with dreams of winning championships.

For Ian Bell, it began with a simple goal.

"I wanted to do a few rallies before I turned 60."

Now, he'll be ticking that goal off alongside his co-driver and daughter, Mackenzie Bell, as they line up together in the Toyota Corolla for Rally Taumarunui.

For Ian, Rally Taumarunui offered everything he was looking for.

"Just for the experience, the cool roads and to have a blast."

The pair are looking forward to experiencing the famous King Country stages, meeting fellow competitors and making the most of a memorable day in one of New Zealand's newest rally events.

"Driving through the world-class stages, meeting new competitors and having fun."

Of course, every rally team has its own unique story.

Ian couldn't resist sharing one about his co-driver.

"My co-driver is my daughter... and fun fact, she gets very car sick!" 😄

Hopefully the excitement of rallying will outweigh the motion sickness as the father-and-daughter team tackle the gravel roads together.

At its heart, rallying is about making memories, and for Ian and Mackenzie, Rally Taumarunui promises to be one they'll never forget.
